Hugh Keevins criticises Celtic before of crucial Dens Park clash

Hugh Keevins is doing it again. The bitter old hack has something against our football club these days, and he makes no attempt to hide it on the radio or in his Sunday newspaper column.

He wrote an essay today suggesting he wouldn’t trust Celtic to achieve a single point, let alone the win they need at Dens Park this afternoon.

He used our fragile defence to prove his point, and while it has been shaky in recent weeks, particularly last Saturday at Hampden Park in the Scottish Cup semi-final victory over Aberdeen (we won on penalties, Phil!), he has failed to highlight the reality of the current title race.

That is, Celtic are now leading the league and are in a strong position to win the title. We arrived to that position not only on our own merit, but also on the stuttering form of our competitors, who suffocated under the burden of the task.

A few weeks back, Keevins and his media hordes predicted we’d be five points adrift going into the final round of fixtures. But lo and behold, Shug’s golden child Philippe Clement has watched his club slip five points after losing to relegation-threatened Ross County and drawing 0-0 with Dundee at Dens Park.

But Keevins didn’t say anything about it; perhaps the boot was on the other foot? He’d be murdering us while admiring the Rangers’ character and resilience.

The only bright spot is that Keevins is almost always incorrect with his predictions. What a sad, spiteful little man. He was once a proud and decent Celtic fan.
