Rangers plan to accept Sam Lammers offer after new development

Football Insider has been informed by sources that Rangers are open to considering bids for attacker Sam Lammers, who is currently on loan.

Football Insider has been informed by a reliable source that Lammers, 26, would likely leave Ibrox permanently during the off-season.

He presently plays for Dutch team Utrecht on loan until the conclusion of the 2023–24 season. On Sunday, March 17, they defeated NEC Nijmegen, and he scored the game’s winning goal.

The two-footed forward, who reportedly cost £3.5 million, was acquired by Rangers from previous boss Michael Beale in the summer of 2023.

However, in one of his first moves during the transfer window at Ibrox, Lammers was moved out on loan to the Eredivisie by Philippe Clement following a subpar start to life in Glasgow.

Lammers is scheduled to be sold, and Rangers manager Clement won’t modify his mind.

Football Insider has been informed by a reliable source that Clement is not expected to change his mind over the forward’s future before the summer transfer window.

In his first 31 games in all Scottish competitions, he had only managed two goals and two assists.

With Utrecht back in the Netherlands, the 6′ 3″ star has performed well, with three goals and three assists in ten games since securing a loan move.

Lammers joined Rangers from Atalanta last summer and has a contract that runs until May 2027 (2023).

The 26-year-old was replaced at Ibrox in January by Wolves rookie Fabio Silva, who has already scored four goals on loan.

Even if Silva signs on a permanent basis, Rangers will prioritise signing a new striker this summer, according to information released by Football Insider last week (15 March).
