Everton fans fume at Sean Dyche after what he said about two players – ‘Sack him’

When Everton manager Sean Dyche said that midfielders James Garner and Amadou Onana were “miles off it” against Chelsea on Monday night (15 April), the Everton supporters became enraged.

Dyche’s worst managerial defeat to date for the Toffees came from a humiliating 6-0 loss at Stamford Bridge, where Cole Palmer scored four goals, Nicolas Jackson added another, and rookie Alfie Gilchrist scored in the ninetieth minute.

Nevertheless, Dyche singled out Onana and Garner for their part in the “ugly” performance in a post-game interview with Sky Sports.

The coach thoroughly punished his “midfield two” for not making enough tackles, having trouble breaking the play, and failing to anticipate Chelsea’s movements.

Sean Dyche slaughtered for ‘clueless’ comments on Everton duo

At halftime, with the Merseysiders behind 4-0, Dyche pulled both Onana and Garner in favour of Jack Harrison and Andre Gomes. He also acknowledged that his team’s second-half effort was “mildly better.”

The teenage midfielders are expected to draw a lot of interest from teams this summer after being star performers for the struggling Toffees this season.

In February, Football Insider disclosed that Garner is being watched by Tottenham and Newcastle United. This month, however, insiders disclosed that Onana is “likely” to depart the team this summer for a fee of between £50 and £60 million.

Dyche’s remarks on the midfielders have infuriated fans greatly since they believe the players simply followed the manager’s instructions to play aggressively.

Using social media, they have demolished the “clueless” boss, and many now demand that he be fired.
