Celtic are expecting high bids for star midfielder Matt O’Riley this summer after rejecting a £20 million approach in January.Atletico Madrid missed out on signing the Denmark international but may make a better bid when the window reopens in June.

However, the Spanish giants are expected to have competition for the 23-year-old’s signature, with sources in Italy claiming that newly-crowned Serie A winners Inter Milan are interested in the man Celtic purchased from MK Dons for £1.5 million in 2022.

O’Riley has been a crucial player for Brendan Rodgers’ team this season, scoring 14 goals and assisting 16 times in 44 games, earning a spot on the PFA Scotland Player of the Year shortlist.

According to Italian source Corriere dello Sport, Inter is keeping a close eye on O’Riley and may make a bid in the summer. According to the article, Italian teams are looking at the Scottish league as an intriguing market after successful trades involving Josh Doig, Aaron Hickey, and Lewis Ferguson in previous seasons.

O’Riley’s old club will be keeping a tight eye on any prospective sale, with MK Dons reportedly due a sell-on fee.

Rangers have apparently opted not to pursue a permanent deal for Fabio Silva. According to sources in Portugal, the on-loan Wolves attacker will not return next season after scoring four goals in 19 appearances for the Ibrox club since arriving in January. The 21-year-old joined the Molineux club for a reputed £34 million from Benfica four years ago, thus ruling Rangers out of a permanent move due to the sum and wages required.

According to reports, Rangers have begun conversations with West Ham full-back Ben Johnson about a transfer to Ibrox this summer. Since his debut with the Hammers in 2018, the 24-year-old has made 109 appearances. Rangers manager Philippe Clement is interested in bringing the former England Under-21 international to Govan on a free transfer, as his contract expires in the summer. Crystal Palace and Leeds United are also reportedly interested in the right-back, while Wolves’ £1 million bid was turned down during the January transfer window.
