Report: Player ‘probably’ leaving is happy that Newcastle want to sign him after just one…

Newcastle United appear to be planning prospective summer additions.

Newcastle United are still uncertain about their European competition for next year, despite a tumultuous season nearing completion.

The Toon appear to be on track for a top-six finish, however Manchester United and Chelsea could have an impact. If they make it to the Europa League, Eddie Howe will have accomplished a significant feat considering this season’s circumstances.

The Conference League is not to be taken lightly, but finishing outside of the top six would be disappointing.

Despite the uncertainty, the club and PIF owners are reportedly eager to recruit a new defender.

Despite Sven Botman and Jamaal Lascelles’ long-term ailments, the goal was to sign a center-back due to a limited budget last summer.

Bournemouth’s Lloyd Kelly and Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo are both reportedly interested.

Although the 26-year-old has not yet decided on his next move as his contract in west London expires, his boss Marco Silva has already stated that he “probably” will not stay at Craven Cottage.

Adarabioyo appears to be considering a move to St James’ Park, according to recent reports.

Tosin Adarabioyo is now very pleased Newcastle want to sign him

According to CaughtOffside, both Chelsea and AC Milan also hold an interest in the former Manchester City youngster.

West Ham, Man United and Tottenham are also believed to be in the running but talks appear to have gone well with Newcastle.

They suggest that the defender was “pleased” with their initial meeting.

How much Tosin Adarabioyo wants in wages ahead of transfer

Interestingly, the report adds that Adarabioyo is looking for a salary of around £5m a year. That roughly equates to around £96k-per-week.

That could put him in the highest bracket at Newcastle, with only a few key players understood to be earning more.
