Everton: Sean Dyche shares injury update on Beto after what happened v Nottingham Forest

After the game against Nottingham Forest, Everton manager Sean Dyche provided an update on Portuguese striker Beto, who had to leave the game due to a head injury sustained late in the contest.

A brutal head collide in injury time left Beto and Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White down on the pitch. Following an eight-minute delay, the Everton striker was taken off the field safely.
Dyche provided the Liverpool Echo with some positive news regarding his striker’s condition after the final whistle signaled a 2-0 victory and a huge three points for the Toffees: “It is pleasing at this moment.”

“At this point, all I can say is that he came around and that he knew what was going on, which they informed me is a positive early indicator following a really hard impact.

“We now hope for news over the next 24 to 48 hours. It was amazing how quickly the medical team reacted, on all parts to ensure that he was safe.”

Everton edge closer to Premier League survival with Forest victory

Even though Beto had only been on the field for ten minutes when Abdoulaye Doucoure set up Dwight McNeil to curl in a second goal and seal the victory with 14 minutes remaining, Everton was already ahead 1-0 against Nottingham Forest. Beto had replaced Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the starting striker.

Beto had been competing with Calvert-Lewin for the number nine position and had scored three Premier League goals in his first season at Goodison Park. However, it’s possible that he now needs a period of time off.
The Toffees moved five points clear of the relegation zone with their second win in three games, albeit Sean Dyche’s team had only won two of their previous 16 games. Rare goals came from further back due to McNeil and Idrissa Gueye in the first half.

Beto’s teammates have the opportunity to motivate Everton to win without him and move further away from the bottom three in the upcoming Merseyside derby against title-chasing Liverpool. If they succeed, the Portuguese striker will return to the team as a member of a squad full of confidence.
