Rangers issue transfer caution as David Turnbull opens up about’strange’ Celtic leave.

Celtic and Rangers return to action today, Sunday, as the Premiership title battle enters its last few games. The Hoops have made a comeback in recent weeks, pulling three points ahead with steady play during Rangers’ troubles.

But Brendan Rodgers’ men will need to be consistent down the stretch to keep the Gers at bay, which begins on Sunday against Dundee. In the meanwhile, we’ve compiled all of the newest news about both Glasgow clubs.

Turnbull discusses Celtic’s exit
David Turnbull has spoken about his departure from Cardiff City, which he joined during the January transfer window. “It was challenging. “As my contract expired, I had to decide what I wanted to do,” Turnbull told the Daily Record.

“I just felt it was time for me to move on.” However, leaving the training ground seemed strange. The Cardiff transaction was completed late, and my last session was two days prior. I assumed I’d go in the next day. I had told the boys, ‘I’ll see you tomorrow. But football moves so swiftly.

“I had to return to Lennoxtown the following day to retrieve my footwear. That was an unusual feeling for me. There was no one there but the kitman and a few workers. So it seemed strange leaving everything at the drop of a hat. Because we’re so close, I speak with four or five of the Celtic boys every few days.

“It felt uncomfortable leaving them behind. Those years at Celtic were the highlights of my life. But my mind was set on getting away for a new challenge. I wanted more game time than I was getting. This was probably the deciding factor. I was in and out of last season. I’m not sure if this was due to my contact condition or not. However, I will not be resuming my career at Cardiff. I’m restarting it to get back to the levels I know I can reach.”

Miller discusses Goldson.
Former Rangers forward Kenny Miller has addressed the Connor Goldson situation, amid speculation that the centre-back would leave Ibrox this summer.

“And even in the case of Connor Goldson at centre-back, I think there are far more pressing matters for Clement to deal with,” he was quoted as saying by the Daily Record. “Let us get one thing straight. Both players have been invaluable to the Rangers. Tavernier and Goldson have ALWAYS been available and have never hidden, even during the highs and lows of three different managers. Having individuals like that in the dressing room is invaluable. However, in the last few days, I’ve read of their alleged demise at Ibrox.

“There is alleged interest from Saudi Arabia with large sums on offer, and some supporters want to cut their losses. But I would be very careful what you hope for. I will start with Goldson. For me, any discussion of his deterioration is premature. Has he performed as well as he has in past seasons? No.

“I heard him mention on a podcast that he’s always “feared the axe” at Rangers. That tells me he’s probably felt he hasn’t been performing at his best this season. I’ve heard that Goldson’s legs are gone and he’s finished. Listen, I played until I was 38, and he is only 31. And he plays as a centre defender. Davie Weir played that position for the Gers at 41.

“But he’s on the wrong side of 30, and any footballer at that age must start relying on other things like game intelligence and positioning.” You must be intelligent rather than relying on your physical ability.
