After their initial bid for Celtic player Matt O’Riley was turned down, Serie A powerhouse Atalanta has now made another offer.
La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Atalanta have been following their interest in O’Riley for quite a while and after an initial rejection, they have retouched their offer in the last few hours.
They had previously offered €15 million plus bonuses of €3 million, but their new offer is at €18 million and bonuses of €3 million, taking the offer upto €21 million. Having said that, the amount is still not enough to convince the Hoops, who want a fee of €27 million to sell the Dane.
O’Riley is grateful for Atlanta’s interest and would be open to the relocation; a basic deal has already been reached. There is currently a €5–6 million discrepancy between the two sides, but this might be settled quickly.
