AFC Bournemouth are in the race to sign Stade Brestois 29’s Lilian Brassier, according to L’Equipe.
It appears that Bournemouth, Marseille, and VfL Wolfsburg have taken note of Brassier after his “extremely successful” season at Brest.
Already, these three teams have attempted to gain the upper hand in the competition for his signature. According to reports, the Premier League team made a larger pay offer to the centre back than Marseille and the Bundesliga team did.
The Frenchman, despite Bournemouth’s bigger income, feels Marseille is the best place for him to keep improving.
Roberto De Zerbi will take over as manager of Marseille, and according to the report, the player has been captivated after speaking with the Italian.
Marseille and Brest haven’t reached a contract yet, according to L’Equipe, and the trade can be completed for about €10 million.
This would be within Bournemouth’s budget, and they would have a chance to recruit Brassier this summer if they can persuade him to change his mind.
