“People might not want to hear that” – Scott Parker reveals what Burnley FC must sort out

Burnley boss Scott Parker has demanded improvements from his side despite labelling his side’s 0-0 draw with lowly QPR as one of their best performances of the season.

Given the two teams’ positions in the league table, the Clarets’ inability to score despite dominating possession and having 22 shots was a very frustrating outcome.

Burnley scored nine goals in their first two games against Luton Town and Cardiff City, giving some fans the impression that they would win the division handily. However, even though they are currently in the running for promotion, they haven’t had it all their own way in recent weeks.

Although Parker was happy with his squad’s performance on Saturday, he was disappointed with the outcome and feels his team can do more to dismantle teams.

Parker explained what Burnley has to work on and stated that they will need to play differently when they face teams content to sit back in a low block.

The Clarets manager told the Burnley Express: “There are undoubtedly more things.

It’s likely that some of these players have never participated in a match when a dominant side must break down a low, low block. Your style of play differs from others.

Since they have four 6′ 2” central defenders, this was not the game to get it out wide and put it in the box. Instead, they had a good game. In those situations, we have to be adorable and witty.

“You must practice your movements, your ability to play in confined spaces, your moments, and your overloads, and we definitely fell short in those areas.”

But it’s all a part of it. Even if others may not want to hear that, we will continue to advance and go forward.

Burnley is currently five points behind league leaders Sunderland after the draw with the Hoops, but they are still in a strong position and will try to pick up where they left off when they visit Millwall on Sunday.

Even though the Clarets have lost three of their past four games, they have had a strong start to the season. However, dropping points at home against a QPR team in the relegation zone was a disappointing outcome.

It appeared that Burnley would be there or thereabouts this season after being relegated from the Premier League the previous season, but with the summer’s turmoil and a significant player turnover, Parker had a task ahead of him in bringing players up to speed.

In his first full season at Turf Moor, the Frenchman has impressed. But he has, and despite some disappointing draws along the road, they have had a great start to the season with just one loss from their first 12 games.

It would be bold to wager against Burnley getting promotion if they can find the cutting edge that was lacking against QPR on Saturday. Additionally, because Parker mentioned altering their style of play, it might benefit them in the long run.

Before the international break, Parker will be seeking to regain the cutting edge they shown in the first few weeks of the season and destroy teams in their next games against Millwall, West Brom, and Swansea City.
