No hiding place for Daniel Farke as Leeds United’s November Championship fixtures analysed
Leeds United has been urged by Daniel Farke to be more clinical in front of goal.
Three months have passed. There are seven left.
Although it is a grind, the Championship is one of the most thrilling leagues in European sports. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, as the saying goes.

Although it is a grind, the Championship is one of the most thrilling leagues in European sports. It’s a marathon, not a sprint, as the saying goes.
There is still plenty of room for improvement, though, if the Whites hope to ensure a return to the Premier League. Daniel Farke, United’s manager, is keen to identify the cause of the team’s wastefulness in front of goal as they strive to realise their full potential.
LeedsLive has examined United’s opponents more closely for the upcoming month:
Plymouth (H) – November 2
Most bookmakers and pundits will put this down as a home banker. The Pilgrims, currently fourth-from-bottom, head to Elland Road on the back of an extraordinary 3-3 draw with Preston North End.
But Wayne Rooney’s side have struggled on their travels so far, picking up a solitary point from six matches. Rooney will also be without a number of first team players through injury.
Only bottom club Portsmouth (16) and Watford (15) have conceded more goals away from home than Plymouth (13) this term. Expect United to exploit their leaky defence and return to winning ways after Saturday’s frustrating goalless draw at Bristol City.
Millwall (A) – November 6
There’s no love lost between United and Millwall. Their rivalry goes back many years.
Neil Harris has done a superb job since returning to the London outfit. He led them to Championship survival last time around and the Lions have made a strong start to this campaign. Back-to-back wins over Plymouth and Swansea City lifted Harris’s side into the top half of the table.
One potential positive for Leeds? Millwall have 24 hours less recovery time as they host automatic promotion hopefuls Burnley on Sunday, November 3.
Queens Park Rangers (H) – November 9
Here, there is no room for error. As a team that hasn’t won in the Championship since August 30, QPR lacks confidence. After their dismal performance, head coach Marti Cifuentes has come under fire.
However, past Saturday, the R’s put on a valiant display to get a draw at Burnley. In order to maintain a clean sheet, they had to endure a lot of pressure.
United should be reminded of their most recent encounter with these two teams. In April, QPR crushed the Whites 4-0, effectively ending their slim hopes of automatic promotion.
Swansea City (A) – November 24
the first game following the international vacation. On paper, it appears to be a good match for the Whites against a squad that has struggled to score goals and accumulate points.
Following a six-match losing streak, the Swans have dropped to 17th place in the standings after going five games without scoring. In actuality, since Joel Piroe was sold to United last year, they have had difficulty consistently scoring goals.
They have scored eight goals in 12 games, which is the fewest goals of any Championship team this year. Three points from the trip to South Wales should be United’s goal.
Luton Town (H) – November 27
The Hatters’ egregious underperformance in the first few months of the season cannot be denied. Luton ought to be far better than 22nd with the attacking potential at their disposal.
However, Rob Edwards, the boss under fire, has struggled to stop the rot. The Hatters’ performance in the Premier League was marred by bad habits, and Edwards is still looking for a recipe that works.
Elijah Adebayo and Carlton Morris, their front two, are the best at this level. Adebayo and Morris have both begun contributing goals. The Hatters will undoubtedly begin to crawl out of difficulty in due time.
