‘Huge potential’ Leeds United man denied Elland Road return by terms of transfer

Plymouth Argyle will be missing a vital player against Leeds United on Saturday, simply because they are Leeds United.

Darko Gyabi is ineligible for the game against his parent club, which is a setback for Wayne Rooney, as the loanee has proven essential for Argyle.

An initial loan stint for the second half of last season was cut short when Gyabi sustained a groin injury that necessitated surgery. The one minute of Championship action he received at Leeds in the first half was dwarfed by the experience earned on loan, which included nine starts and one substitute appearance before injury struck. He’s been on the pitch and played in games. I admire his attitude. I think Rooney appreciates him as well. He’s a regular starter, and I think we’ll miss him. He’ll be one of the players we miss. Hopefully,
