Jeff Bezos’ decision not to purchase the Celtics has disappointed Boston insiders.

The Boston Celtics are now for sale, and there were rumours a few days ago that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos was interested in buying the franchise.

Later rumours, however, indicated that Bezos does not intend to purchase the Celtics.

Michael Felger and Michael Holley expressed their disappointment that Bezos isn’t pursuing the squad in an interview with NBC Sports Boston.

Both of them assert that Bezos purchasing the squad would have been fantastic from a media perspective.

With his enormous wealth, he could have built a new stadium, made major investments in the team, and made many other noteworthy upgrades to the franchise.

If Bezos had bought the Celtics, it would have made headlines everywhere.

He attracts attention for everything he does, and his NBA affiliation would have generated a tonne of press coverage.

Rather, he will not proceed with any plans for the Celtics; nevertheless, another individual will.

The team is extremely valuable, and soon a billionaire, or group of billionaires, will put their signature on the contract.

The Celtics are already incredibly valuable, so this is a smart financial move that will only make them more desirable in the future.

While some supporters are happy that Bezos isn’t associated with the team, Felger and Holley are disappointed.

Given his controversial persona, some may find it inappropriate for Bezos to become engaged with the squad.

However, that doesn’t mean he won’t eventually go on to another organisation, possibly in a different sport, simply because he won’t be acquiring the Celtics.

In fact, you can count on hearing Bezos’ name whenever a major franchise is up for sale.
