Premier League boss shares honest opinion on main issue surrounding Chelsea’s €60m man

Premier League manager gives his honest assessment on the primary issue surrounding Chelsea’s €60 million man.

Wolves boss Gary O’Neill believes the new Chelsea signing Pedro Neto has had a string of injuries and was never thought to be prone to them.

The Blues will face Wolves at Molineux on Sunday, looking to pick up their first Premier League points of the season.

Chelsea will be hoping that adding Neto from their opponents this summer makes their work simpler, as the Portugal international has previously caused problems for them.

Neto is not injury-prone.

Neto signed for the Blues in a sensational £51.4 million transfer and made his debut against Manchester City last weekend before playing his first Europa Conference League game against Servette on Thursday night.

The skill of the Portugal international is undeniable, and his performances at Wolves have demonstrated that he can be one of the top wingers in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old’s injury record is a major concern, since he has missed a significant amount of games in recent seasons.

Pedro Neto is set to take on his former club this weekend.

Neto has missed many games due to injuries over the last few seasons.

However, speaking before of Sunday’s game, his previous boss, O’Neil, feels Neto has been unfortunate with injuries and is not an injury-prone player.

“I always felt he was unfortunate with injuries, he never struck me as injury prone,” said the actor to reporters.

“There will be a question mark around him at the time. It’s not anything I’d be concerned about, which is why I was anxious to keep him and play him every week, but you can understand how that may have affected him during the summer.

Chelsea have a poor record at Molineux, having last won there in 2019 with a 5-2 triumph under Frank Lampard.

Neto is unlikely to start against his previous club, according to Maresca, but Joao Felix, who has practiced with his new teammates ahead of the game, may make his debut.
