Burnley: Leeds United transfer target might be handed over by Scott Parker’s call.

Winger Manuel Benson has been linked to a move to Leeds and other Championship clubs as a result of Burnley’s summer exodus from the Premier League. If Scott Parker doesn’t start the winger soon, he might be tempted by a move to Leeds.

In an effort to reduce their roster before the August 30 transfer deadline, Burnley has recently seen a number of summer departures, but Manuel Benson is one player who supporters will want to preserve.

Wilson Odobert, Scott Twine, Anass Zaroury, and Sanders Berge are just a few of the celebrities that the Clarets have had to watch go in the past week. In an effort to save money, it is also anticipated that a big number of players will leave the team, leaving an expanded roster that still includes deadwood.

A return to the Premier League for Dara O’Shea and James Trafford’s ongoing links to Newcastle United could result in some first-team players leaving Turf Moor. Benson, a Belgian star, is another player who may leave Turf Moor. The Belgian is linked to a move to Leeds United.

The Belgian winger is reportedly on Leeds’ shortlist and talks are underway, according to a report by Sacha Tavolieri earlier this week. Sunderland and Norwich City are also said to be interested in the player, and Scott Parker may have a significant influence on Benson’s decision to leave the team as the newly appointed Clarets manager is clearly favouring Brazilian star Vitinho on the right-flank, which will frustrate Benson.

Why Burnley’s Scott Parker might have regretted not playing Manuel Benson

Benson’s rumoured desire to quit Burnley is not surprising, considering he has had a difficult year there. The little wizard only started 14 games during the season, despite scoring 11 goals, and he only appeared in eight Premier League games as the Lancashire club made a return to the second division, even in their incredible 101-point Championship season under Vincent Kompany.

He had made it obvious that he wanted out of the team since the halfway point of the last campaign, but with new management and a chance for a rebirth under Parker, he had hope.

Despite Vitinho’s natural position at full back, Parker has chosen to play him wide, and Benson may find it difficult to break into the starting lineup given that Vitinho has already scored and assisted in two of this season’s games.

Benson might be tempted to join Leeds United during the transfer window.

Benson’s quickness and work ethic made him a fantastic substitute for Kompany, especially when facing worn-out defences. However, Leeds may definitely give Benson a chance to start after losing Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville this summer.
