Burnley: Leeds United transfer target might be handed over by Scott Parker’s call.

Benson’s rumoured desire to quit Burnley is not surprising, considering he has had a difficult year there. The little wizard only started 14 games during the season, despite scoring 11 goals, and he only appeared in eight Premier League games as the Lancashire club made a return to the second division, even in their incredible 101-point Championship season under Vincent Kompany.

Despite Vitinho’s natural position at full back, Parker has chosen to play him wide, and Benson may find it difficult to break into the starting lineup given that Vitinho has already scored and assisted in two of this season’s games.

Burnley would suffer a severe setback in two respects. Not only would they be losing a vital player in Benson, whom they know is capable of performing at the Championship level—especially in light of the losses of Odobert and Zaroury—but they would also be fortifying a competition for promotion in Leeds. Parker cannot afford to do that, thus it will be essential to feature the Belgian throughout the campaign.
