TRANSFER NEWS Marc Guehi transfer to Newcastle United now finally edges towards conclusion – Report

The Marc Guehi deal to Newcastle United is reportedly getting closer to completion at last, according to recent reports.

This information is released when the transfer window is getting closer to closing; in eight days, on Friday, August 30, at 11 p.m., it will close.

This new information comes from The Telegraph, where reporter Mike McGrath reports that there is just a £5 million gap between Newcastle United’s offer and what Crystal Palace would want.

According to the report, Newcastle United has increased their offer for the defender to £60 million with the option to add £5 million in future deals. Crystal Palace is said to value the defender at £70 million.

According to the guy from The Telegraph, there is now genuine hope that Marc Guehi’s relocation will ultimately take place before the deadline of 11 p.m. in eight days.

In my opinion, Crystal Palace has been using Newcastle United as a scapegoat for other issues at the team in recent weeks.

In addition to losing the thrilling Michael Olise for an estimated £60 million, Palace made a few low-key additions for just about £25 million. Joachim Andersen has finally fulfilled his ambition to depart by joining Fulham. The Palace supporters’ mood certainly wasn’t lifted by a dismal loss to Brentford on the first day of play.

However, in an attempt to acquire Everton, American millionaire John Textor is currently attempting to sell his or their Crystal Palace shares. As the face of the multi-club conglomerate Eagle Football Holdings, which owns around 45% of Crystal Palace, Textor is unquestionably the biggest stakeholder at Selhurst Park.

It wouldn’t have exactly improved the mood of Palace supporters to have then very swiftly agreed to a deal with Newcastle United to also move star player Marc Guehi.

I believe that Crystal Palace would have tried to hang on to the England defender until the very end of the transfer window in order to lessen criticism of the deal, regardless of what Newcastle United had offered.

With just 22 months remaining on his current contract and a history of declining to sign new, longer deals, Marc Guehi makes it obvious that he does not want to continue at the team.

It’s safe to assume that Guehi is eager to join Newcastle United since, as any reasonable person would know, the center defender wouldn’t have been courted for so long by NUFC.

Despite all of the bombast and ostentation from Chairman Steve Parish and minority shareholder (10%), claiming that Palace doesn’t need to sell, etc. In actuality, they have to make a lot of moves during this window, or else they risk having their best player—and maybe most valuable asset—enter the last phases of his contract and could leave for free if Palace continues to mistreat Marc Guehi.

Another point that the media often fails to mention is that, as part of the agreement, Palace received a sizeable portion of the transfer price when they acquired Guehi from Chelsea three years ago. Another explanation for why Palace is so determined to extract every last dime from Newcastle United.

If Marc Guehi is still at Selhurst Park in September, I would be shocked. Given how long this is taking and the lack of significant competition from other clubs, I have little doubt that Newcastle United will be the player’s new home.
