Sunderland Secure Sell-on Clause As Ipswich Agree Jack Clarke Deal

It has been agreed upon that Sunderland would acquire a sell-on clause as part of the sale of Jack Clarke to Ipswich Town, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

In an effort to get Clarke to Portman Road, Kieran McKenna’s team put out a sizable bid for him earlier this week.

Ipswich wants to sign the Sunderland winger because they believe he can handle the transition to the Premier League.

The negotiations with Sunderland have now been successfully concluded, and both teams have an agreement in place.

Sunderland is happy to take the £20 million plus add-ons that Ipswich has agreed to offer.

Crucially, the agreement also contains a sell-on clause from the Black Cats.

Sunderland will profit monetarily if Clarke excels in the Premier League at Ipswich and secures another significant salary move in the future.

The percentage of the sell-on clause that was agreed upon by the two teams remains unknown.
