Aston Villa are in contact with Atletico Madrid for Joao Felix.
Aston Villa had an amazing season under Unai Emery, finishing 4th. This top-four finish secures them a spot in the Champions League for the upcoming season.
The club is actively strengthening their squad, having already made some impressive signings, and they’re also rumored to be interested in players like James Rodriguez and Joao Felix.
Romano confirms Aston Villa’s interest in signing Joao Felix
According to Romano‘s update, Felix is a dream target for Emery. Although securing the deal will be challenging and expensive, Villa remains in the race to sign him.
He wrote on X:
“Aston Villa keep contacts active for João Félix as he’s the dream target for Unai Emery. Expensive package, deal not easy but Villa are still there.”
Felix would be an outstanding addition to Villa. Last season, he was on loan at Barcelona, where he scored 10 goals and provided 4 assists in 44 matches. He has since returned to Atletico, but both the club and the player are looking for a transfer.
Felix originally joined Atletico in 2019 for a significant £113m and has made 131 appearances, scoring 34 goals and assisting 18. If Villa can secure his signing, it would greatly strengthen their attack.
