Man United to reward Amad Diallo with new role and contract after talks with Erik ten Hag

After speaking with manager Erik ten Hag, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that Manchester United plans to reward Amad Diallo with a better contract and a more significant part in the club.

Against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarterfinals, Amad scored a spectacular injury-time goal to cap off an incredible finale to the previous season.

He was equally outstanding for United against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle during their last home game of the 2023–2024 campaign. That time, Amad launched a strong shot that struck the back of the net.

The Ivorian seems to have continued where he left off, turning in a performance deserving of man of the match on Saturday as United easily defeated Rangers 2-0 at Murrayfield in a preseason fixture.

In the first half, the winger gave the Red Devils the lead when he cut in from the right side and struck the bottom corner with his left foot.

Ten Hag addressed the media following the last whistle and pushed Amad to step up and advance in the next campaign.

According to a recent article that The Peoples Person published, Dan Ashworth, United’s sporting director, was keen to reach a consensus with Amad’s side on a new contract.

In an interview with his Here We Go podcast, Fabrizio Romano stated that United does intend to extend new terms to Amad.

A larger role in the team will also be enjoyed by the 22-year-old.

The Italian journalist revealed, “Yes, Amad Diallo did fantastic in the friendly game against the Rangers, but in general, the second part of the season last year was excellent.”

“Allow me to clarify that in January, when he was given the opportunity to come back to Sunderland, Erik ten Hag was the one who spoke with Amad Diallo directly.”

“There were multiple options, as he also received a significant proposal from Italy regarding a loan with a possible buyout option.”

Ten Hag chose to have faith in the player. Amad Diallo is anticipated to be a key member of United’s squad in the upcoming campaign after performing admirably in the latter half of the season and particularly in the latter stages.

Amad will be in the team when United departs for Los Angeles on Wednesday to begin their preseason tour.
