Raphinha might be sold by Barcelona for €50 million.

Barcelona would consider offers in the range of €50 million for Brazilian international Raphinha, with Arsenal and Chelsea keen.

According to Sport, Barcelona are pretty much open to selling Raphinha this summer and will consider offers close to €50 million. The Brazilian could fall further down in the pecking order should the Blaugrana succeed in their quest to sign Nico Williams. Arsenal and Chelsea are among those keen on the former Leeds United winger.

Raphinha situation explained

Barcelona are not flush with cash, and should they dream about signing a player like Nico Williams, it would take a sacrifice in the form of a big sale to fund that move. That is not to say that the Catalans are banking on a sale before signing the Athletic Club star. But they will have to offload a pivotal asset to balance their finances.

Raphinha is the most vulnerable player in the squad if Williams arrives, and the Spaniard’s presence will directly affect the Brazilian’s game time. Barcelona are not alone in the pursuit of Williams, as Arsenal and Chelsea consider him a priority.

Arsenal, in particular, would be ready to pounce on the Williams deal if Barcelona falters at any stage. In any case, teams like Arsenal and Chelsea have not made an offer for the Spaniard due to Barcelona’s presence, and they might, in turn, consider a move for Raphinha if the Brazilian ends up leaving the Catalans.

Raphinha prefers a return to the Premier League and is ready to turn down Saudi Arabia’s overtures. Barcelona is willing to consider offers close to €50 million for the 27-year-old winger, who has a contract until 2027. At that price, the Catalans will be taking a small hit on their initial investment in the winger two years ago.

Premier League interest rife in Raphinha

Arsenal and Chelsea chased Raphinha before he joined Barcelona, and they are considered contenders if the Brazilian is made available this summer. Aston Villa are also keen on Raphinha as they plan on bringing a replacement for Moussa Diaby, who is reportedly closing in on a move to Saudi side Al-Ittihad.

Newcastle United are also monitoring the situation as they seek a replacement for Miguel Almiron. Either way, Raphinha has plenty of suitors in the Premier League and will seek a return to England as his time at Barcelona seems to be drawing to a close.
