Kasper Schmeichel connects with Hoops, saying, “He’s here and he’s perfect.”

Kasper Schmeichel has joined up with Celtic after completing a summer transfer to the Scottish Champions. The Denmark captain helped take his national to the Last 16 of the Euros in Germany but will be looking to make his impact felt on a return to Scottish football.

Celtic have shared a picture of Schmeichel arriving in the States to link up with the rest of the squad. In a Twitter/X post, Celtic said “he’s here and he’s perfect” alongside a snap of the 37-year-old.

Schmeichel signed on a one-year deal with an option to extend that further. The club will also be bringing in Viljami Sinisalo from Aston Villa in a £1m deal. The 22-year-old will deputise to Schmeichel and be mentored by the the former Man City goalie.

Schmeichel made 479 appearances for Leicester turning out for as they won the League, FA Cup and Community Shield as well as two Top 5 finishes. The latter three achievements were under Brendan.

Schmeichel played 15 games for Falkirk in 2007 before returning to City. It was a move that was the making of the young Dane as he earned first team experience, as well as saving a Craig Beattie penalty in a win over Celtic.
