Medical booked for Aston Villa player in flash exit – Could be training with new club this week

After the striker given his agreement to the deal, negotiations between Al-Ittihad and Aston Villa over Moussa Diaby are “progressing positively.”

Journalist Gianluigi Longari claims that there is still work to be done but that the “distance between supply and demand” has already shrunk.

Al-Ittihad reportedly increased their interest in Diaby this summer after expressing interest in him earlier this month, according to reports that surfaced earlier today.

After it was reported by Foot Mercato that two bids had previously reportedly been made, the Saudi Arabian side reportedly put in a €55 million bid. Additionally, they mentioned that Diaby expressed interest in the relocation, which created an opportunity.

Now that the gap between what Aston Villa is demanding and what Al-Ittihad is willing to pay has “narrowed,” Longari reports that negotiations between the two teams are moving forward favorably.

According to him, Diaby approved the transfer some days prior, which is why there was such a sudden push on the issue.

Fellow journalist Rudy Galetti supports this, stating that Al-Ittihad are so sure of the deal that they’ve scheduled a medical appointment for him in the hopes that a deal would be reached shortly.

In fact, they intend to finish the forward’s signing by this Thursday, allowing him to report to their training camp on Friday.

They appear to be quite confident that a deal will be reached quickly and that Diaby will promptly leave Aston Villa.
