It looks like Brendan Rodgers has now started to get the wheels in motion after new Celtic signing, Viljami Sinisalo was spotted boarding an aeroplane to head to the USA this afternoon.

Viljami Sinisalo, the new Celtic acquisition, was seen this afternoon boarding an aircraft that was bound for the United States, suggesting that Brendan Rodgers has finally begun to put the wheels in action.

Sinisalo has not yet been formally announced by Celtic as of this writing, however as we previously noted, the Finnish international was seen boarding a plane to the US alongside the rest of the Hoops team.

What can the 22-year-old expect from the newest member of the Celtics squad, as they eagerly await his first-ever game action?

For context, consider what former Celtic defender Gary Caldwell had to say about Sinisalo on the young player’s loan at Exeter City the previous season.

Caldwell believes the new Bhoy will have a “incredible career.”

Caldwell hailed Sinisalo for his professionalism as soon as he signed a loan deal with the League One team, noting that he has a bright future ahead of him.

“We are really excited to have him,” Caldwell said of Exeter City, “because he comes with experience playing league football at this level, as well as having played for his national team in Finland and Scotland.”

He already has a sense of the club and is prepared, well-trained, and up to date. After calling off his vacation, he showed up at the Newton Abbot gym at five thirty, the first person there.

“I believe that covers all the essential information about Vil, and I have no doubt that he will have an amazing career ahead of him.”

With 50 appearances for the League One team that season, it appears Sinisalo’s hard effort paid off. He was obviously eager to impress.

Sinisalo’s “exceptional” conclusion for the close season

At the conclusion of the previous season, Caldwell praised the young Finnish “keeper” for his “outstanding” play in keeping a “great signing” off the squad when he revealed his player retention list for Exeter.

Caldwell stated, “We needed cover and someone to push Jamal Blackman, so Gary [Woods] was a great signing at that time.”

“He accomplished it, joined the team, and experienced some truly wonderful times.

Gary was a terrific character in the changing room and was always there to assist Vil Sinisalo, who was an excellent competitor this year. Gary was also great for Shaun MacDonald and Harry Lee.

It would appear like Celtic are getting a very diligent goalie who is ready to learn and who earned the respect of his previous colleagues while out on loan.

While on loan at Exeter, Sinisalo had 14 clean sheets, so it appears like Celtic are getting not just a great deal, but also a quality professional at such a young age, for just £1 million.

The supporters will be curious to see how he fits into the Celtic team, but based on Caldwell’s remarks, it appears that the young player won’t have any trouble fitting in with the current Hoops squad.
