Club are now ready to sell Sean Dyche’s ‘top target’ to Everton this summer

Everton have been handed a fresh boost in their transfer pursuit of a new target, who is reportedly high on Kevin Thelwell’s list.

Everton’s attempts to recruit Jaden Philogene were unsuccessful, but despite this setback, the Toffees are determined to get a winger and will not be deterred as they negotiate the summer transfer market.

Ultimately, there are persistent rumors that associate them with numerous fresh faces, the majority of whom would undoubtedly strengthen the Goodison Park roster.

Wilfried Gnonto, an Everton target, is one such example; nonetheless, Fabrizio Romano stated only last week that he is not their main target.

No, that honor is reserved for another winger, who the Toffees have just made progress in signing.

Everton handed boost in transfer pursuit of Jesper Lindstrom

The latest on the transfer progress of Jesper Lindstrom actually comes from The Mirror, who provide an innocuous but hugely important line which details Napoli’s stance on the saga.

After all, Sean Dyche’s position is clear, with Everton viewing Lindstrom as their ‘top target’.

However, wanting a player and convincing him to join are two completely different things, as the Toffees have learned across the last few years given their precarious position within the Premier League.

But, with things now far more secure, they can finally sell a dream to their targets, which they will seek to do with this Danish winger.

It will likely come down to negotiations on the player’s side, as this report states Napoli’s shock interest in allowing him to leave. It reads: ‘Sean Dyche’s side are also exploring a deal for Napoli’s Jesper Lindstrom with the Italian side interested in a sale of the winger.’

How good is Jesper Lindstrom?

Lindstrom is unquestionably a distressed asset at this point in time.

After such a successful stint with Frankfurt, he was supposed to have more of an influence at Napoli, but instead he had one of the hardest seasons of his young career.

But this is precisely the kind of market that Thelwell will be looking to target, bringing in younger, less appealing players who have the potential to reach their peak at Goodison Park and who have a definite sell-on value.

After all, the 24-year-old’s stellar season in Germany only lasted through the 2022–2023 campaign, during which he made just 27 appearances in the Bundesliga and scored seven goals and provided four assists.

It is somewhat unfortunate that he has only made two starts in the Serie A and has yet to score in the league.

For Everton, though, this marks the perfect time to swoop.

His price tag will be at an all-time low, and it was not long ago that he was one of the Bundesliga’s most sought-after players. This capture would represent fine business from Thelwell, should the terms of the deal be agreeable.
