Aston Villa set to confirm Celtic transfer as fee revealed

According to reports, Celtic is getting close to signing Viljami Sinisalo from Aston Villa.

The goalkeeper, 22, is about to sign a five-year contract at Parkhead after Celtic and Villa agreed on a transfer fee that is reportedly in the neighborhood of £1 million. Football Scotland asserts this information. Over the weekend, talks regarding Sinisalo’s transfer took place.

Sinisalo, who has three caps for Finland, hasn’t appeared in a senior match for Villa and was out on loan at Exeter City for the entirety of the previous campaign. In League One, he made 50 appearances for the Grecians and recorded 13 clean sheets.

Sinisalo won’t be the only goalkeeper Celtic signs in the near future; Kasper Schmeichel’s transfer is about to be finalized by the Hoops as well. Before flying into Glasgow to finalize the specifics, the Dane is scheduled to undergo his own tests on Tuesday.

With Sinisalo’s departure from Villa, he will join Tim Iroegbunam, Omari Kellyman, Douglas Luiz, and Sebastian Revan as the five players to leave the team permanently this summer.

Everton signed Iroegbunam for a potential £13 million deal, and Chelsea signed Kellyman to a long-term contract after Villa accepted a £19 million proposal. Last month, Luiz’s £42 million transfer to Juventus cleared Villa’s record with reference to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules. On Monday, left-back Revan finalized his transfer to Wrexham.

Villa is anticipated to pay £18 million for Hull City’s Jaden Philogene and £50 million for Everton’s Amadou Onana.
