Jhon Duran receives brutal Aston Villa message as he’s pushed towards transfer exit door

Jhon Duran has been pushed to make the switch from Aston Villa to West Ham as he is not going to replace Ollie Watkins as first-choice striker.

Since arriving from Chicago Fire for £14m in January 2023, he has made 49 appearances for the club. Whilst this shows trust from Unai Emery, only 10 of these have been as part of the starting XI and 1,229 minutes in total averages to roughly 25 minutes-per-outing for the Colombian.

At 20 years of age Duran is still very much a player in development at Villa as he acts as understudy Ollie Watkins. The summer 2020 £28m signing was hardly going to be displaced last campaign either, having ended the year as the Premier League’s top goal contributor with 19 goals and 13 assists.
