‘Get Ready’ – Fabrizio Romano: Another attacker Everton want to sign now about to decide on move

According to Fabrizio Romano, Jaden Philogene’s future will not be a saga this summer despite interest from Everton and a number of other clubs.

On July 3, an Italian journalist said on his Playback transfer update programme that the Hull City winger will make his decision “really soon” and that the transfer competition between the Toffees, other Premier League teams, and La Liga giants Barcelona will not last until the end of the month.

The Catalans have made a loan-to-buy approach for the 22-year-old, and Crystal Palace and recently promoted Ipswich are also interested in him.

Everton are offering £16 million for the former Aston Villa player, as reported by the Daily Mail on June 28.

Romano said (23m 10s): “What I can tell you is to get ready because the player’s future will be decided soon.” This will not be a saga like the end of July or August; Philogene will make a decision soon, and we will know the player’s situation shortly.

“Several clubs have expressed interest. “The player will make his decision very soon.”

Ipswich attempt to beat Everton to former Aston Villa man

It will be a relief for the Philogene interest not to turn into a drama, and while the Toffees will be disappointed if they do not win, it will allow them to put the pursuit behind them and move forward.

Everton’s offence seems stronger now that Jack Harrison has returned on loan from Leeds United and Iliman Ndiaye has signed permanently from Marseille.

At the same time, that may only return Sean Dyche’s squad to where they were a year ago, before being forced to sell both Alex Iwobi and Demarai Grey.

So, with the financial situation at Goodison Park improving this summer, signing Philogene after a standout season in the Championship would be a bonus.

Despite cost-cutting initiatives and progress towards a Dan Friedkin takeover, the club sold Lewis Dobbin to avoid profit and sustainability challenges before June 30.

Iliman Ndiaye

Iliman Ndiaye has already joined the attacking ranks at Everton during the transfer window.

That brought a fantastic wide option to Aston Villa, and while Tim Iroegbunam came in the opposite direction, it would solve the matter more immediately by adding another exciting winger who used to play at Villa Park.
