According to transfer specialist Fabricio Romano, Tottenham Hotspur is apparently displaying a “genuine interest” in signing Desire Doue, a standout at Stade Rennais, this summer.
With Leeds having signed Archie Grey, the Lilywhites have begun their transfer operations. Ange Postecoglou’s team is anticipated to add a few more players, with the Australian manager reportedly wanting to improve the offensive midfield position.
According to Romano, Tottenham has already communicated their internal interest in signing Doue to the player’s representation and is shown “genuine interest” in doing so.
The Frenchman, according to the journalist, is “one of the best young talents” in the world, so if Spurs decide to get him, it would be a wise move.
However, Romano also warns that Tottenham aren’t the only club interested in Doue as other teams around Europe are also plotting a swoop for him. Therefore, the North London club are set to face tough competition from their rivals in getting any potential deal done for him.

Romano said:”It’s true that Tottenham is sincerely considering this child, Doue. This is not a novel concept. He is one of the players that the Tottenham board values, thus there is interest in him. As one of the top players at his position, Doue is on the rosters of numerous teams, including Tottenham.
“To start with, Tottenham has acquired Archie Grey, which is a fantastic addition for the team. However, it’s also true that they are thinking about Desire Doue as a player. Doue is a player to watch for Tottenham, but not just for Tottenham, as other clubs are also keeping an eye on this child. They have already communicated their interest in him to the player’s representatives internally.
Tottenham will need to spend a lot of money to entice the 19-year-old to the recently refurbished White Hart Lane this summer, as it was previously stated that Rennes wants to see a transfer cost of approximately £60 million.
Doue is a bright and skillful midfielder who can play both attacking midfield and left side. The young player has caught the attention of several major European clubs after showing flashes of his abilities in Ligue 1.
