Sunderland linked with ex-Manchester United, Fulham and Brighton midfielder

With Corry Evans leaving Sunderland, midfield experience is needed.

Oliver Norwood is a free agent midfielder who has been linked to deals with Sunderland, Watford, and West Brom.

Sheffield United released the 33-year-old Northern Ireland player after the team was relegated from the Premier League. On the other hand, Sunderland Nation has reported that Championship clubs are already making moves.

After Norwood’s 33-year-old international teammate Corry Evans left the Stadium of Light at the end of the 2023–24 season, Sunderland found itself shorthanded in the midfield.

The Black Cats, along with Hull City and Watford, the Championship opponents, supposedly “registered their interest” in Norwood, according to reports from last month. There have also been rumors circulating that several Major League Soccer teams are interested in signing the Manchester United youth product for nothing.

Norwood has had four promotions thus far in his career. Two to the Premier League, one each to Brighton & Hove Albion and Sheffield United.
