Nuno wants to keep Nottingham Forest, even though Newcastle wants to sign him for £15 million.

Nuno Espirito Santo wants to restructure Nottingham Forest’s team, thus there will be a lot of changes made to the roster this summer.

From a Forest standpoint, the transfer front has been bustling this week.

Elliot Anderson arrived from Newcastle, while Odysseas Vlachodimos signed for the Magpies on the opposite side.

Perhaps surprisingly, Forest revealed earlier today that Brandon Aguilera has signed a permanent contract with Rio Ave.

It has now been suggested that Forest may struggle to hold onto another one of their great players come summertime.

Newcastle still keen on signing another Forest player

The Magpies are reportedly looking to sign another Forest star, indicating that they are not satisfied with stopping at Vlachodimos.

The Athletic claims that Eddie Howe is still interested in acquiring Anthony Elanga as he wants to bolster his right-wing options.

When Forest was first linked to an effort to recruit Swedish player Anderson over the weekend, he was apparently viewed as the makeweight.

Elanga’s Premier League debut season with Forest was incredible.

He was a consistent starter under Nuno Espirito Santo and Steve Cooper, providing five goals and nine assists.

Elagna only cost Forest £15 million from Manchester United and if they were to sell him now the club could command a much higher price.

Forest hold the aces with Elanga

Newcastle might want to sign Elanga but it doesn’t mean that the club has to sell unless their valuation is met.

Forest look to have complied with PSR this time around and they should have staved off another threat of a points deduction.

In light of this, the team is not in a hurry to offload its best players, therefore Newcastle will probably need to make a significant investment.

Besides, it’s unlikely that Elanga will want to leave Forest at this time.

He’s representing a manager who has given him the opportunity to be a great player in the first squad every week, and maybe he will demonstrate his commitment to the team.

In order to comply with PSR themselves, Newcastle had to sell Anderson to Forest over the weekend.

They may therefore need to watch their spending carefully, and we don’t think they will be able to buy Elanga very soon.
