Journo moots nine-figure valuation for Everton player as West Ham example raised

Everton could demand a £100 million fee for Jarrad Branthwaite to leave Goodison Park next season, according to Chris Beesley.

The Toffees center-back’s future has been the subject of much conjecture, with Manchester United thought to be eager to bring him to Goodison Park, but hesitant to meet the £70 million asking price.

Liverpool Echo journalist Beesley has urged Everton to follow West Ham and Declan Rice’s lead and maintain their valuation, despite suggestions to lower it.

On the Royal Blue Mersey YouTube channel (2 July, 19:10), he stated that if he continues to excel, given the high demand for left-sided center-backs and English talent, he could potentially command a £100 million fee in the future.

“Greaish has gone for that money; he isn’t even at the Euros. Declan Rice has also been sold for more than £100 million, bringing the total to two English players.

“I think if Branthwaite continues to get better and build on what he did last season and kicks on again next season there’s no reason why we can’t even be talking about £100million.”

Will Everton sell Jarrad Branthwaite in summer transfer window amid Manchester United interest?

The Toffees actually have an outstanding talent on their hands right now, and they will not want to leave him unless they earn a large transfer fee, whether this summer or next.

As Beesley points out, the market for English players, as well as the market for left-sided defenders, has become much inflated in recent years, so it is not unrealistic to expect Everton to seek a nine-figure sum.

Whether or not anyone is willing to pay that next summer will most likely be determined by Branthwaite’s performance in the coming year.

If he continues to improve as projected, he might be an England regular when the transfer window opens, which will raise his price and increase demand for his services.

However, for the Toffees, retaining him at Goodison Park this summer must be the top priority. Hopefully, despite United’s early interest, he will remain at Goodison and play a role in the final season.
