Everton, Leicester City make offers for La Liga striker with 22 goals scored during 2023-24 season

Despite securing rapid promotion back to La Liga, Espanyol may lose their most effective forward during the summer transfer window. Martin Braithwaite scored 22 goals in all competitions last season, but despite the Catalans’ return to Spanish football’s top division, he appears more likely to depart than stay.

Braithwaite recently rejected a “derisory” contract offer from Espanyol. According to MD, he might depart this summer for a nominal fee, although the actual amount is unknown. Getafe and Valencia are among the La Liga clubs interested in the Dane.

However, they are unlikely to compete financially with the Premier League. According to Danish publication Tipsbladet, three English clubs have presented contract proposals to Braithwaite: Everton, Leicester City, and Southampton.

Braithwaite’s future with Espanyol is uncertain without a commitment. It is possible that he will return to England, where he formerly played for Middlesborough.
