DONE DEAL: Everton completes a £15.6 million (plus £1.2 million in add-ons) deal to recruit Iliman Ndiaye from Marseille.

According to Sky Sports, Iliman Ndiaye will officially join Everton on July 3rd after completing his deal from Marseille.

On July 2, 10:59 p.m., Alan Myers announced on the transfer center that Ndiaye would complete his transfer to Goodison Park on Wednesday following a successful weekend medical.

The former Sheffield United attacker appeared to be returning to England as the third summer signing by the Toffees, despite having scored nine goals and provided nine assists in his nine games with the Ligue 1 team last season.

Ndiaye is expected to be a crucial player for the Blues after the Blues and Marseille agreed to a deal worth £15.6 million (plus £1.2 million in add-ons). Ndiaye has only made one Premier League appearance thus far, back in the 2020–21 season [Fabrizio Romano, 25 June].

The transfer of Iliman Ndiaye gives Everton’s offense a fresh angle.

A player who destroyed defenses with Sheffield United will be a welcome acquisition at Goodison Park for a team that struggled mightily to score goals during the previous campaign.

While Ndiaye’s three goals in 30 Ligue 1 games is not prolific, he could be able to resemble his former Sheffield United form if he is given a more regular role in the Toffees’ new offensive scheme.

Considering that Ndiaye scored 14 goals from an advanced midfield position during the Blades’ 2022–2023 promotion campaign—more than twice as many as the Blues’ leading scorer did the previous season—his addition is probably going to boost Sean Dyche’s team’s offensive production.

Ndiaye will offer a new style of play, allowing for a more diverse attack at Goodison Park, especially with doubts around players like Dominic Calvert-Lewin with the Toffees barely flush with cash [Alan Myers, 26 June].

The 24-year-old will be looking to get off to a quick start in Merseyside, but it remains to be seen how Dyche will use Ndiaye moving forward. The club is almost certain to sign him.

In other Everton news, following the Premier League’s unofficial deadline day, a PSR update has surfaced at Goodison Park.
