Arsenal Fire Off First Bid In Battle For Liverpool And Tottenham Target

With Italy out of the European Championship, the race to land Calafiori is set to heat up in the next few days and weeks.

He is expected to be sold by Bologna this summer and he is a top target for Juventus where new manager Thiago Motta wants to reunite with the defender.

The center-back is highly sought after by Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Tottenham, and Liverpool.

According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via Calciomercato.com), Arsenal has made an offer for Calafiori, marking their first Premier League shot.

According to reports, Arsenal has made a €47 million approach to sign the defender this summer.

However, it may not be enough to spark his sale because Bologna requires more money before agreeing to let him go.

FC Basel, the Swiss giants, have a 50% sell-on provision in their agreement with Bologna when they sold Calafiori.

The Serie A club will wait for better offers in order to optimise their profit from the sale while still paying Basel half of the earnings.
