£35m Everton target is now expected to leave his Premier League club ‘quickly’ this summer

Everton may seem to have shifted their transfer strategy for the better, but there always remains this fear that the club might relapse.

After all, the last 12 months have seen unusually calm conditions on the field, despite the chaos surrounding the points deduction off it.

Finally, the team appears to be settling into and accepting of Sean Dyche’s no-nonsense style. Despite already finishing the season 14 points ahead, they would have finished much further out from the relegation zone if it weren’t for a record winless stretch midway through the Premier League season.

Kevin Thelwell is rightfully proud of himself for assembling a competitive team, but he naturally expects more.

With all these transfers, he must watch out that he does not fly too close to the sun.

Armando Broja now expected to leave Chelsea

However, given how uncertain Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future at Everton is, this specific agreement may have been made out of necessity.

The striker, who is reportedly unwilling to sign a new contract, remains in limbo, leaving Thelwell to comb the market in case he decides to go. He failed to move to Newcastle United, which caused Everton’s deal to fall through.

And based on the Toffees’ well-documented interest over the past few months, it appears that he has settled on Armando Broja.

Although journalist Ben Jacobs states that “now that Armando Broja is back from Euro 2024, he is expected to leave Chelsea with talks likely to advance quickly,” Dyche’s team is concerned about this most recent update on his future.

Everton should steer clear of risky transfer

Even though Broja is a young, talented striker who has warranted comparisons to the Calvert-Lewin leave, Everton will not want to pay the amount Chelsea is looking to demand for Broja, even after the PSR deadline has past.

Ultimately, he has only played one complete season on loan at Southampton three years ago, and even then he only scored six goals, making him somewhat inexperienced in the Premier League.

Despite going through a historic goalless streak in front of goal during the previous campaign, Calvert-Lewin nevertheless managed to score seven goals.

With the Albanian international as their charismatic leader, things may get much better. He could fit in at Goodison Park like a duck to water.

However, it is also possible that he would perform poorly, struggling to fit into Dyche’s system and struggling to handle the pressure of starting at number nine for a team like Everton.

Thelwell needs to move on unless he can work out a significant discount since the danger is too great for him to take.
