Report: Kevin Thelwell expected to make bid for £25m midfielder to join Iliman Ndiaye at Everton

Everton have already had a summer that exceeded most fans’ expectations.

Especially after Kevin Thelwell set such low expectations by informing them that large sales would be coming and no replacements could be guaranteed.

However, he must have found some spare change from somewhere, as he welcomed in Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa in a £9m deal that astonished most, brought back Jack Harrison on loan, and is now close to another transaction while without losing key assets.

Now that Iliman Ndiaye has passed his Everton physical, we should expect an announcement.

That could now be combined with another positive development, as the Toffees have identified another target from the larger European leagues.

Everton will submit bid for Florentino Luis.

In recent years, clubs have primarily scouted within the Premier League, resulting in costly and unimpressive additions. However, there have been some notable exceptions to this trend.

Amadou Onana and Ndiaye, both from Marseille, are notable examples of a strategic shift.

According to Record, Thelwell may have conquered the Portuguese league as well.

It highlights Everton’s renewed interest in Florentino Luis and reads: ‘The recently promoted Premier League team [Leicester City] is drafting a bid, but Everton remains on the hunt for the midfielder.

Everton has also expressed an interest in signing Benfica’s number 61 player. This is an old hobby. The Toffees had already declared their desire to buy Florentino in January, but were unable to persuade Benfica. This summer, Liverpool will continue to look to reinforce their midfield, and they are set to make a proposal to the Eagles in the coming weeks.

Everton had a £25 million deal for Florentino Luis rejected in January.

Iliman Ndiaye to lead Everton’s revolution

While Luis’ addition would bring in a new midfield master to command play, Ndiaye is anticipated to be the actual driving force behind Everton’s transition.

After all, his return to England has brought a sprinkling of enchantment back to Goodison Park, something the club has been missing for so long.

He excels when paired with a powerful striker like Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Beto.

Especially given that his best season with Sheffield United came while playing alongside Oliver McBurnie, when he scored 15 goals and assisted 12 others.

He has constantly been praised for his ability to perform absolutely remarkable things on the pitch, but he is also acknowledged with having a rigorous work ethic.

So, while Luis would undoubtedly be another fantastic addition, Ndiaye offers something the Toffees have needed for what feels like a decade.
