Peter Vindahl Jensen, Celtic’s “number one” custodian target, is still up for negotiation.

Supporters of Celtic want the team to have a successful and thrilling summer transfer window, but as of right now, no deal is close to completion.

The position of custodian comes first. It is not ideal to start the season without signing a new number one. We could argue that for the entire preseason training camp, we need to have the man we want in the door.

It takes time and effort to develop a relationship between a custodian and his defence. By the time the competitive action begins at the beginning of August, everyone must be caught up.

Deals are known to be negotiated behind closed doors. In an interview with the media last week at Lennoxtown, John Kennedy made that very evident.

And even though there isn’tw that discussions between Sparta Prague and Celtic are ongoing regarding goalkeeper Peter Vindahl Jensen.

Celtic is still looking for the Danish goalie.

Jensen is still reportedly Celtic’s “number one target” for the role, according to Football Scotland, and talks about a possible contract are still ongoing.

The Bhoys were reportedly expected to pay more than £4 million in order to acquire their man.

In an ideal world, we’d hear a lot more about goalkeeping progress over the next week. We know the transfer market can be tricky, but the Bhoys have the resources to land Brendan Rodgers’ top choice with little fuss. Nobody wants this summer transfer window to drag on into saga territory like 2023. Sparta Prague only recently signed the Dane, and he’s coming off an impressive season that, like Celtic, helped them lift a league and cup double.
