Newcastle United are reportedly very interested in signing Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.
A cordial relationship between the Magpies and Forest appears to be growing as a result of both clubs assisting one other with player signings to maintain compliance with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability criteria.
On Sunday night, Forest signed 21-year-old Scottish midfielder Elliot Anderson for £35 million, while Greek custodian Odysseas Vlachodimos left for a much lower amount.
Newcastle want Forest to throw them another bone by agreeing on a fee for Gibbs-White, who has been linked with a move to Tyneside for some time.

Newcastle “really want” Morgan Gibbs-White
According to INews, the Magpies are quite interested in signing Gibbs-White this summer, but the fee will be high.
The Englishman is expected to cost Newcastle up to £60 million, which may raise concerns about PSR.
The 24-year-old had a fantastic season, scoring five goals and assisting ten times to help Forest win the Premier League for the third consecutive season.
Gibbs-White’s quality has piqued the interest of higher-level league clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur.
Does Newcastle need another midfielder?
Newcastle are not prioritising the midfield position; instead, they are looking for a centre-back and a right-winger.
With Elliot Anderson’s departure, Eddie Howe will be considering this position, but the Magpies have a quality starting midfield, so their money will most likely be spent elsewhere.
Gibbs-White may possibly seek a move to a European club next season, leaving Newcastle out of the driving seat.
