Judge reaches decision on Dak Prescott sexual assault lawsuit

Following a woman’s allegations of sexual assault against Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott last month, police chose not to press charges. Additionally, a lawsuit against Prescott has already been dismissed.

Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News reports that a judge in Collin County, Texas, rejected the sexual assault claim against Prescott on Wednesday. To ascertain whether sanctions against the Fort Worth woman who filed the accusations against Prescott are appropriate, a hearing has been set on September 13.

Judge Angela Tucker ruled that the charge was without merit.

Levi G. McCathern, Prescott’s attorney, told the Dallas Morning News in a statement that “justice has consistently prevailed and will continue to do so despite [the accusers] and her legal team’s relentless efforts to extort money and damage Dak’s reputation.”

The accuser, who claimed to have been sexually attacked by Prescott in the rear of an SUV outside of a strip club in 2017, filed a complaint in March.

Prescott filed a lawsuit against the woman in March after his attorneys said they received correspondence from the woman’s legal counsel two months earlier demanding $100 million. Prescott’s lawyers claim the woman was trying to extort the quarterback by demanding money in exchange for not pursuing criminal charges.Prescott refuted the claim, saying the lady was attempting to defraud him by putting him on the hook for “a rape case I obviously did not do.”

With 4,516 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions last year, Prescott had one of his best seasons as a professional. The Cowboys were blown out in the first round of the playoffs by the Green Bay Packers, which was another sad exit for the team.

According to rumours, Prescott is looking for a pay rise that would set a record, and he has been asking the Cowboys for a contract extension.
