John McGinn buzzing with news coming from Aston Villa

John McGinn has been left delighted with news announced by Aston Villa on Monday.

The Villans have had a busy summer thus far. Douglas Luiz left for Juventus in a trade that also brought Enzo Barrenechea and Samuel Iling-Junior to Villa Park.

Since then, Aston Villa has seen another development, about which John McGinn is extremely pleased.

Ross Barkley returns to Aston Villa, and John McGinn leaves happy.

Aston Villa also announced the signing of Ross Barkley from Luton on Monday.

The England international, who scored three goals in 26 Premier League games while on loan from Chelsea to Villa Park during the 2020–21 season, is back in the Midlands following an incredible campaign with the Hatters the previous year.

Barkley won the title of Luton’s Player of the Season after making 32 Premier League games, including goals against Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea, and dishing out four assists.

McGinn posted “Yesssss Laaaa” on Instagram following the 30-year-old’s announcement of his return to Aston Villa, while the Scotland international gave the Liverpudlian his best Scouse impression.

Chelsea’s 24th number Barkley also received a note from Reece James, who wrote in the comments, “yess bro, so happy for you!!”

Teden Mengi and Omari Belli, both defenders for Luton, also communicated.

A master class taught by Monchi

These days, every team wants to sign young players with high potential for return, but Monchi made a great business decision by signing a seasoned 30-year-old for just £5 million.

Barkley can certainly equal Douglas Luiz’s 2023–24 season, which saw him play 53 games in central midfield and record 10 goals and 10 assists.

Thus, one could claim that Monchi signed a comparable player to replace the Brazilian, in a trade that also saw the Villa Park relocation of two talented players, Iling-Junior and Barrenechea.

While the performance of all three has still to be determined, this appears to be a very good business deal.
