Cowboys’ Micah Parsons Responds to Teammate’s Criticism of His Podcast Career

Micah Parsons was not happy about his podcast career being criticised by Cowboys colleague Malik Hooker.

Micah Parsons, a linebacker with the Dallas Cowboys, took offence at safety and teammate Malik Hooker’s recent criticism of his podcast career.

Hooker questioned Parsons’s priorities throughout the season while he’s podcasting during an episode of former NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson’s podcast, All Facts No Brake, which aired on Friday.

“My advice for Micah would be just make sure we’re alright,” Hooker stated. Because, really, what are you really concerned about if we’re at work and the run game is bad but you’re producing a weekly podcast and you know the run game is bad?

Parsons, 25, collaborated with Bleacher Report to start his podcast, The Edge With Micah Parsons, back in 2023. In May, he was appointed President of B/R Gridiron, Bleacher Report’s digital NFL division, and inked a multiyear deal with the website to continue producing his podcast.

Parsons, the 2021 Defensive Rookie of the Year, has amassed 40.5 sacks during this time and has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his three seasons in the league. Both analysts and his contemporaries consider him to be among the NFL’s top pass rushers.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Parsons took exception at Hooker’s remarks and responded with a since-deleted message on his X, formerly Twitter, account.

I wish you had told this to me on a podcast, though! You have my phone number, family!” Parsons penned this. “You’re my locker buddy, [Malik Hooker]!

“So, you could have stated this at any time! You are aware that I record the show on our day off. Why aren’t we discussing everyone’s plans and priorities?

Over the past three seasons, the Cowboys have won 12 games in each, but they have also fallen twice in the wild-card round and once in the divisional round. Hooker was probably alluding to the Cowboys’ mediocre run defence, which was thoroughly embarrassed by the Green Bay Packers in their 48–32 playoff defeat in January, giving up 143 yards and three touchdowns.

Dallas is expected to head towards Oxnard.
