Aston Villa are likely to go after £50m player once Euro 2024 is over

Aston Villa have been very busy already this summer.

Five new players have already been added by Unai Emery’s team, but Douglas Luiz is the first major figure to leave early.

Due to Luiz’s departure, Villa has a significant hole in their roster and will need to sign a replacement in the upcoming weeks.

John Townley has been talking about how Villa intends to replace Luiz on the Claret and Blue Podcast. He has stated that Conor Gallagher is still a guy the Villans are interested in.

In fact, Townley claims that Villa wants to recruit Gallagher and anticipates that they would become more interested in the England international following the conclusion of Euro 2024.

Aston Villa will go after Gallagher

Townley revealed his knowledge of Villa’s intentions with the £50 million man.

It’s clear that Villa wants Gallagher. Will they go through with that deal? Townley remarked, “I think they probably will, especially once England gets eliminated from the Euros.”

There will be competition there because Tottenham likes him as well. If not, I think they will pursue another player because they have the funds to buy a second midfielder.

Gallagher could have to relocate.

Gallagher might have to depart from Chelsea come summertime.

The midfield player is nearing the end of his contract, and with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall expected to come at Stamford Bridge, he might soon find himself relegated to a lower position in west London’s hierarchy.

With Champions League football on the table and a spot open in the squad, Gallagher

is a gifted player who is undoubtedly good enough to play for another elite Premier League

team. A move to Villa may be ideal for Gallagher.

Tottenham is interested, as Townley notes, but they might not be looking for another midfield player this summer after agreeing to a deal for Archie Grey.
