The £35 million striker who engaged in fierce competition with Jarrad Branthwaite is still of “strong interest” to Everton.

Although Everton has had a pleasant summer so far, there is a subdued expectation that things won’t stay this easy all summer long.

After all, other clubs will be prepared to increase their spending to really jumpstart the transfer window now that a deadline of this kind has passed, having apparently handled PSR with caution while also strengthening the squad.

That puts the likes of Jarrad Branthwaite, Amadou Onana and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in even greater focus.

Fortunately, if any were to leave, already a replacement seems to be lined up for the latter.

Everton still want to sign Armando Broja

Since many are wondering who could possible replace the imposing marksman with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, whose future is in doubt, The Guardian has attempted to provide an update on Everton’s striking position. Here is the most recent information on the club’s summer transfer ambitions.

According to this rumour, there is only one possible response: “Chelsea already has Conor Gallagher, Moisés Caicedo, Enzo Fernández, Roméo Lavia, Lesley Ugochukwu, Andrey Santos, and Carney Chukwuemeka as options in midfield.” Chelsea may sell forward Armando Broja of Albania to Everton. Gallagher has been sought by Tottenham and Aston Villa, and his contract is set to expire in a year.

Chelsea has also attempted to change players prior to the accounting deadline of Sunday night. Everton is one of the teams showing a lot of interest in buying Broja, but negotiations are still ongoing. Wolves, Milan, and Bologna are also keeping an eye on the forward.

It is said that Armando Broja is worth £35 million.

Jarrad Branthwaite and Armando Broja engaged in a fantastic duel.

Everton supporters were undoubtedly aware of Broja’s skill set even prior to the emergence of these summer connections.

Ultimately, the Albanian international has played against the Toffees multiple times while playing for various Premier League teams, but he may have relished his biggest test in December of 2023.

Arriving at Goodison Park, the burly striker led a poor Chelsea team that was looking to break Everton’s winning streak of two games. He was quiet and didn’t score as Sean Dyche’s team easily won 2-0, but he was outstanding in his battle with Branthwaite; his deft movement got him in behind the English defender a few times, but his quick recovery time often saw him back in time to thwart any further threat. At the time, football tactics writer Joel Parker even wrote: “Most dangerous moments have been long balls to Broja in space (great matchup vs Branthwaite.)”

Though the defender prevailed in the end despite a fantastic matchup, considering Broja’s youth and his track record of scoring goals at this level, Kevin Thelwell may have made a wise summer investment.
