‘Medical complete’ -Spurs will pull off a massive £35 million transfer coup against Chelsea and Liverpool

The previous season, Leeds United had a fantastic debut season at Elland Road in the Championship.

Archie Grey, a gifted midfielder for Leeds United, is close to signing a contract with Tottenham Hotspur, as recent rumours indicate that the 18-year-old passed the team’s physical.

That’s according to Sky Sports, which indicates that as the weeks go up to the Premier League season’s opening, the transfer is moving very quickly. Even after a medical examination and personal terms were agreed upon, there is still a cost that needs to be paid.

Brentford, Tottenham’s London rivals, made an initial £35 million approach on Saturday, but Leeds United turned it down. Thomas Frank’s team was the early favourites to sign the England under-21 player. Nonetheless, Grey is now anticipated to arrive in London with Tottenham Hotspur.

Last season, the midfielder had a breakout year at Elland Road, making 52 appearances across all competitions. As Premier League suitors waited in line to make a move with the Yorkshire squad after Daniel Farke’s team only missed out on securing a return to the top division, his self-assurance and tidy work in the middle of the park attracted attention.

Grey, the son of former Burnley, Leeds United, and Nottingham Forest striker Archie Grey, had his debut appearance in a first team squad in 2021 when he was 15 years old and was a substitute against Arsenal.

Before an agreement between the Bees and Whites over the terms of payments fell through on Saturday, it is thought that the player had flown to west London to finish a medical at Brentford. As part of the agreement, Spurs are anticipated to sweeten their own £35 million bid by transferring defender Joe Rodon to Leeds United; the Welshman was on loan in Yorkshire the previous season.
