Jarrad Branthwaite exit update emerges as Everton survive PSR period unscathed

Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite’s summer move to Manchester United is now less likely, according to talkSPORT.

The source stated on its website on Monday (1 July) that now that the Toffees have successfully navigated the Premier League’s profit and sustainability era, they are under less pressure to sell their players.

This development suggests that the Blues will not lower their asking price for the 22-year-old this summer, making a move to Old Trafford increasingly doubtful between now and the end of the transfer window.

Everton rejected United’s initial £35 million proposal for the defender this summer after they agreed on personal terms.

Will Everton sell Jarrad Branthwaite to Manchester United during the summer transfer window?

It’s fantastic to learn that the Toffees made it past the Premier League’s profit and sustainability deadline unscathed, given how many financial challenges they’ve had in recent years.

Last year, Sean Dyche’s team received two different point deductions after selling numerous first-team players and reducing the pay bill in a desperate attempt to balance the books, and they couldn’t afford to do so again.

They have managed to not only stay inside the league’s spending rules, but also to keep players like Branthwaite, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and Jordan Pickford at Goodison Park despite interest from some major teams.

Hopefully, this report is correct and Branthwaite’s move to Old Trafford is becoming less and less likely as it would be a massive boost to the Toffees ahead of the start of the Premier League season.

Dyche’s success last year was founded on defensive solidity supplied by the England international and James Tarkowski and it would have been a shock to lose that before a ball had even been kicked in the league this year.
