For £45 million, Tottenham is interested in hiring the offensive midfielder from Aston Villa.

Tottenham is interested in hiring Jacob Ramsey, an offensive midfielder for Aston Villa.

The North London team, having just secured Europa League football the previous game, is aiming to bolster their offense as they get ready to move forward under Ange Postecoglou. Spurs want to have one more native player in the mix. Jacob Ramsey of Aston Villa has been linked to them, and Fabrizio Romano has acknowledged their interest in the Villa academy graduate.

“What I heard is that this was a story from probably end of May, beginning of June, when they started a conversation,” the transfer specialist stated via GIVEMESPORT. However, it was merely a discussion rather than an official Tottenham offer to sign Ramsey.

Thus, while there is interest, it is currently limited to that. It won’t be simple for Tottenham, I believe, as Aston Villa will try their hardest to keep the player at the team—they already traded Douglas Luiz.

With each passing season, Ramsey has had an incredible ascent at Aston Villa, becoming stronger and stronger. Tottenham is still trying to get him to leave Aston Villa, even if his 2023–24 season didn’t go as planned due to injury, as he was limited to just 21 appearances.

The North London team believes the adaptable 23-year-old would be a fantastic addition to their group as they look to improve the quality in the attacking third. Their recruitment director Johan Lange apparently has seen Ramsey up close during his time at Aston Villa, which is what has them interested in him.

Spurs have been eyeing the English midfielder for some time, but they haven’t made an official approach for the player, who is valued at £45 million. Douglas Luiz’s departure during this window was already approved by Unai Emery’s staff, and as a result, their finances are now under control.

Because of his significance to the squad, they are unlikely to allow Ramsey to depart. Emery is concentrating on acquiring players who will bolster his team in anticipation of their Champions League debut.
