Everton Now Strong Contenders to Sign Chelsea’s Broja

According to sources, Everton is “strong contender” to sign forward Armando Broja from Chelsea this summer.

Chelsea, one of the busier teams in the first few weeks of the transfer season, is about to finalize a £30 million deal for Leicester City midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Broja is one of the players most likely to leave, but they still want to make money this summer through player sales.

Conversely, Everton is looking to improve on their exciting season from the previous year. Sean Dyche’s team managed to avoid relegation for a third straight season despite losing two points, despite spending a significant portion of the season in the drop zone.

Everton Keen on Chelsea Forward Broja

The forward is under contract until 2027

The ‘perfect forward’ (according to Jacek Kulig) Broja signed a long-term contract in 2022 to stay at Stamford Bridge until 2027, but he hasn’t been able to settle into a starting role at Chelsea since. He was on loan at Fulham for the second part of the last campaign, and the club is probably going to unload him this summer along with a few other peripheral players.

Jacob Steinberg of The Guardian claims that Chelsea wants to sell Broja in order to raise money. Although other teams are vying for the Albanian forward, Everton is considered a serious possibility.

Before making his first team debut two years ago, Broja, who might cost the Toffees up to £35 million, was a young player at Chelsea and had loan stints at Vitesse and Southampton. The attacker was sent on loan last season because, despite Chelsea’s lack of a competent and consistent striker, he hasn’t been able to secure a starting spot over players like Nicolas Jackson.

Everton do have options in the forward areas, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin currently their first-choice striker. The Toffees also signed Portuguese star Beto 12 months ago to further strengthen in that area of the pitch. However, with uncertainty currently surrounding Calvert-Lewin’s future on Merseyside, Everton’s reported interest in Broja suggests they are preparing for all possibilities this summer. Iliman Ndiaye is another versatile option in attack, with the Toffees close to securing his signature, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Everton Handed Jaden Philogene Blow

The winger is also wanted by Barcelona

Reports state that Everton has suffered a serious setback in their attempt to recruit Hull City winger Jaden Philogene. This week, The Liverpool Echo revealed that the Toffees are considering the 22-year-old, but that was swiftly followed by rumors that he is wanted elsewhere.

According to Sky in Germany, Barcelona has made Hull, a Championship team, a formal offer and has shown a genuine interest in the former Aston Villa player. According to the article, they have discussed a season-long loan with a buyout commitment of €20–23 million, subject to specific conditions being fulfilled.

During the previous season, Philogene made 32 appearances for Hull in the Championship and scored 12 goals. In addition, he contributed six assists, which is remarkable considering that he missed a major portion of the season due to a knee injury over the holidays.
