According to Gabriel Agbonlahor, Aston Villa should recruit a “outstanding” £50 million Euro 2024 star.

Aston Villa will be one of the teams to really watch this summer as Unai Emery’s team gets ready for Champions League football next season. They have already made a couple of signings, including the deal for Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen. However, it appears that Gabriel Agbonlahor hopes that the Villans may be able to convince one of the stars of the summer to also join the club in the coming weeks. Nico Williams has been one of the most exciting players at Euro 2024 so far, with the winger helping Spain largely coast out of their group. He has named the Euro 2024 star that he would absolutely love to see Aston Villa sign during the summer transfer window.

Nico Williams is what Gabriel Agbonlahor wants at Aston Villa.

Williams had led Athletic in goals scored and assists in all competitions the previous season heading into the event.Among the teams interested in Williams is Arsenal.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said that Williams would be very near the top of Villa’s transfer wishlist and included him in his squad of the tournament thus far.

He has, in my opinion, been excellent. Spain has always been the team to play tiki-taka and pass, pass, pass, but they are now more direct, getting the ball to their wingers, players, and the byline when you want a winger to get at a full-back, he added.

“I remember playing against right-backs because I was quick, and they were like, ‘Gabby, please go inside, please switch, stop going past me’. Defenders hate playing against pace, players that want to run at them, and that’s what he’s been doing this tournament. And I’m sure he’ll be doing it tonight against Georgia.

“£50 million release clause, he’s such a young lad, 21 years of age. Imagine him, he’s one that I’d love my team to go and get, Aston Villa, but any team, he’s an outstanding talent and he’s definitely got a bright future.”

This summer, a significant problem for the forward’s supporters

Villa and any other team hoping to recruit Williams in the upcoming months have one major issue. His release clause, of course, implies that there might be a deal to be had.

Nevertheless, Williams is supposedly seeking earnings of £3,000,000 per week at his next team, as he is currently bound by an extraordinarily rich deal with Athletic, who clearly have a restricted pool of players to choose from.

That might turn off a lot of teams because it would instantly make the forward one of the most paid players in the Premier League.

However, if he is prepared to compromise, Villa and the majority of the Premier League’s elite teams might be interested in signing him.
