Report: Spurs are leading the fight for the £60 million target and are optimistic about defeating the opposition to sign Eberechi Eze.

The Times reports that Tottenham Hotspur is willing to hold off on making a deal for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze until after Euro 2024.

Eze is currently with the England squad in Germany but so far, the Crystal Palace star has only managed to play a little over 20 minutes of football at the tournament, coming on as a second-half substitute in the 1-1 draw against Denmark.

Back home, the speculation over his future continues to intensify, with a number of outlets suggesting that Tottenham have already reached out to the attacking midfielder to explore a potential transfer (TBR Football).

It was reported by GiveMeSport a couple of days ago that the Eagles are becoming increasingly worried about losing the 25-year-old as Spurs circle over the player.

Talks for Eze will pick up speed at Spurs after he returns from Euro 2024.

The Lilywhites are reportedly preparing to pursue Eze after he returns from the competition, according to The Times.

According to reports, Tottenham views the midfield player as a “key target” and isn’t deterred by his £60 million release clause.

According to the report, a number of other Premier League teams are also showing interest in the former QPR player. However, Tottenham is reportedly optimistic that they can defeat the competition and acquire the Palace star.

When England plays Slovenia on Sunday afternoon in the round of sixteen, Eze will be aiming for more playing time.

After the Euros and the Copa America are over, I believe that a lot of transfer deals will accelerate because there will probably be a cascading effect throughout Europe.

It seems that Tottenham has made Eze their main goal, and it’s likely that the 25-year-old knows that he wants to transfer across London by now.

This is a straightforward transaction, so Tottenham shouldn’t dither. Present the £60 million clause.

Given their significance to Oliver Glasner’s team, especially in the second half of the season, the Eagles would be hesitant to lose both him and Eze this summer. But, if a team like Tottenham covers the transfer money, they might not have an option.

Eze is rumored to have a release clause of about £60 million, which would force Palace to allow the player to talk with Tottenham.
