Deal done: An agent who agreed to join Everton for £52,000 a week has suddenly stated that he wants to leave this summer.

Everton has already had a busy summer, maneuvering around budgetary constraints while operating shrewdly and quickly to tie up their business early.

The supporters have praised Everton’s efforts to identify PSR loopholes in particular, although the Premier League is currently in a desperate search for a way to close this gap.

After all, Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell might find this offer too tempting to turn down, even in light of their newfound reluctance to sign older, less trustworthy players.

As alluring as the offer would be, Everton would be foolish to attempt to wrest a Brazilian midfield wizard from a major European powerhouse.

Ultimately, they have repeatedly chosen the Hollywood name over the safer, more sensible choice, and their current financial situation is a sorry tale.

The £52k-a-week star would most likely join that lengthy list of misguided purchases, and this at a time when Thelwell appears to be moving in the right direction toward a more modernized team devoid of such misguided expenditures.

That’s not to say Melo won’t be successful somewhere; during his loan with Fiorentina the previous season, he shown that he still had talent.

Nevertheless, Thelwell had to decline it since the Toffees can no longer afford to take the risk.
